This time, I´d really like to show  you this video about an English teacher, called Manuel. He used to work as an English teacher in Madrid. But one day, he decided to create new and motivating songs for his pupils. And he became famous. Now he manages his own TV show.

Twitter becomes the most learning tool

What is the most popular ict used for learning purposes?  Have you ever thought about it? According to some research made in England, Twitter is the main learning tool. Check it out yourself on http://c4lpt.co.uk/top-100-tools-for-learning-2011/

In Spain this sounds unbelievable! The Spanish Goverment is still working on a proyect called Escuela 2.0,  and the main goal is to provide each school with computers and Digital Whiteboards.

What is a “learning tool”? This could be a tool you use to create or deliver learning content/solutions for others, or a tool you use for your own personal learning. Now, the  question is… Is Twitter a learning tool? How can you bring it into your classroom?

Well, Twitter allows teachers to connect with other educators from around the world, join discussions related to their interests and have a steady stream of resources (to help them teach and learn) available to them whenever, wherever and however.

If your students are under the age of 13, they cannot create their own Twitter account. The solution is to create a classroom twitter account and start tweeting as a class!

You can even say that´s possible to do if you manage a classroom of students of 10 or 12 years old. Wrong!  I´ve found a teacher in Canada who uses Twitter for a kindergarten, that is, children of 5 years old!

I´d like to start this blog by saying a few words about the importance of using ict in our daily classroom and not as something extraordinary. I feel deeply touched by Marc Prensky´s ideas: “Engage me or enrage me”. Passion is the key word for every teacher´s action.
